About the International Protease Network

Welcome to the International Protease Network. This is a website register of researchers interested in proteases, receptors, or inhibitors and it is formally linked to the International Proteolysis Society. Protease researchers wishing to join the network should go to the Invitation page.

About Proteases

Proteases are enzymes that account for about 2% of the human genome, and 1-5% of genomes of infectious organisms. They are important in conception and birth, life, ageing, and death of all organisms. International researchers are studying proteases, their receptors and inhibitors to better understand the biology of life and the treatment of diseases.

Dustmites secrete proteases associated with asthma.
